How this is calculated
- Net area = length × height − openings.
- Bricks = net area × bricks per square foot × number of wythes.
- Bricks per square foot already assumes a 3/8 in mortar joint — a wider joint means fewer bricks.
- Mortar ≈ one 80 lb bag per 125 bricks.
Before you order
- Order all the brick in one run. Clay colour varies between production batches and a mid-wall change is permanent and obvious.
- Brick veneer is not structural. It needs weep holes, a drainage gap and wall ties at code spacing, none of which are in this count.
- 10% waste is the minimum for a plain wall. Corners, arches and cut patterns need more.
