How this is calculated
- Worked hours = total clocked hours − unpaid breaks.
- Regular = worked hours up to the overtime threshold. Overtime = everything above it.
- Gross = (regular × rate) + (overtime × rate × multiplier).
Before you order
- Federal law sets overtime at over 40 hours in a workweek at 1.5×. Several states add daily overtime — California pays 1.5× past 8 hours in a day and 2× past 12 — so check your state before trusting a weekly-only total.
- Breaks are only deductible if they are genuinely unpaid and uninterrupted. Short rest breaks generally must be paid under federal rules.
- This is gross pay. Withholding, payroll tax and deductions come off it and are not modelled here.
