How this is calculated

  • Net area = gross area − everything you are not sodding.
  • Order area = net × (1 + waste). Cuts around curves and beds are where sod is lost.
  • Rolls = order area ÷ coverage per roll. Pallets = rolls ÷ rolls per pallet, rounded up.

Before you order

  • Sod is perishable. It should go down within 24 hours of being cut, and in summer heat that window is shorter — schedule delivery for the day you lay it, not before.
  • Order a little long. Running one pallet short on the last strip means a second delivery fee for a handful of rolls.
  • Prepare and level the soil first. Sod laid on lumpy ground stays lumpy forever.
